Iliauni Theatre is proud to present the premiere of “The Open Couple”, a well-known comedy by Dario Fo and Franca Rame, on October 11 and 12, 2025, at 8:00 PM on the Ilia State University stage.
This one-act comedy, filled with humor, irony, and parodic scenes, explores the double standards often found in modern relationships. The story follows a married couple’s domestic life and gender dynamics, offering a performance that is both funny and thought-provoking.
The production is part of Ilia State University’s Master’s program in Live Theatre Arts: Directing and Acting, and is directed by our student Anuki Khoshtaria.
Antonia is played by Nina Qipshidze, and her husband is portrayed by Buka Tolordava, actor at the Shota Rustaveli National Theatre.
