On December 28 at 18:00, Iliauni Theatre will host the premiere of the New Year’s performance “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, and these magical days will continue for our audience until January 20, 2024.
Roald Dahl’s beloved tale “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” is widely known from its film adaptation, and for the first time in Georgia, it will be performed on the theatre stage.
The New Year’s play is directed by Keti Asatiani, who works together with well-known actors, school students, and Ilia State University students, all of whom were cast by the theatre specifically for this production.
On Christmas Eve, every dreamer awaits a miracle. Little Charlie, who lives in a small wooden house on the outskirts of a big city, dreams of one day entering the enormous chocolate factory of the famous Willy Wonka. Charlie loves chocolate very much, and only once a year—at Christmas—does he get a chance to taste it, thanks to the tireless work of his family.
What fate awaits Charlie? Who will find the golden ticket granting entry to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory, and who will win the grand prize?
After all, on Christmas, every dream should come true!
At the end of the performance, the beloved Lokomoko lion will greet and give gifts to the children.
