Right after the New Year’s performances conclude, Iliauni Theatre is preparing for another very interesting premiere. On January 28 at 20:00, our stage will host the Innovative Creative Center project. This project is unprecedented for Georgia and aims to support the rehabilitation and resocialization of former prisoners through art.
The play “Case №”, directed by Rusudan Kobiashvili, was specially written for this project by playwright Ninia Sadgobelashvili. On stage, professional actors perform alongside former prisoners. Rehearsals have been intensive over the past three months.
The play tells the story of a female judge who is no longer working, lives with her assistant, and tries to ease the monotony of her days by recalling and analyzing past court cases, while also reflecting on a personal family tragedy.
The project “Former Prisoners on Stage” is partially funded by the Tbilisi City Hall.
