On January 10-12 Iliauni Theatre hosted a three day workshop held by an American director Adrean Giurgea expecially for students of Ilia State University MA Programme “Live Theatre Arts: Acting and Directing”. During three days the students worked on three different themes “In Praise of Disorder”, “Everything that Is Alive Is Dramatic” and “Conversations between Actors and Their Characters”.
Adrian Giurgea is an American Stage Director, based in New York. He was born in Romania. He was forced to emigrate from Romania when his production based on Sologub’s The Petty Demon was closed by communist authorities in 1978. Adrean Giurgea apprenticed his craft on some of the most famous stages of the world. He assisted, among others, Maurizio Scaparro, Giorgio Strehler, and Robert Wilson. He directed about 100 productions and taught acting and directing in Romania, Israel, Italy, Russia, Estonia, and the U.S.
