On March 24 at 20:00 Iliauni Theatre will host another premiere of this season.
An exceptional play by Amelie Nothomb “the Human Rites” was staged by Luka Intskirveli. The Play tells a familiar story – When it is winter and war is raging, human beings look for warmth and food for survival. Yet what will happen when everything around has already been burnt and only books remain? What is more important – books or survival?!
Three main characters of the play are trying to decide which book should be preserved and which one can be sacrificed. Books fly to the over one after another. The fewer books remain on the stage the more we find out about the characters. The ending is sad for books as well as for the characters. The performance about the psychology of a person in an extreme situation is told by actors Aniko Shurgaia, Giorgi Jikia and Giorgi Tabidze. The set designer was Teo Kukhianidze; Erekle Getsadze composed the score for the play.
We beliee that for the society in the country that has seen many wars, the performance will be full of emotions especially now when there is a war raging in our neighbouring country and 20% of our territory is occupied by Russia.
