A Fairy Tale in One Act
Once upon a time in a land far away a boy was born. He feel from the sky on a dark and windy night, then a woodcutter found him and took him home. The boy grew very handsome, but hartless and arogant. I am a son to a star, he used to say and rejected his mother who came in his search… He rejected her and the boy’s good looks vanished. The one who does not like his mother, cannot be handsome, can he?!
The Star Child wandered for three long years, yet could not find compassion or sympathy. The world turned out to be exactly as he created it – cold and hartless. And only when pity and love entered his heart, the world changed.
As a Christmas treat, Iliauni Theatre shall tell you Oscar Wilde’s fairy tale about the power of love and regret and remind us yet once again that only love can make you handsome…
